Registered Architect (USA)
Infatuated with the built environment around her, Charlotte has an incredible curiosity and empathy about the world, it’s people, and how Architecture can bridge the two. Growing up in rural New Zealand, Charlotte developed a deep tactile appreciation for the environment, its materials, and its ecological systems.
Graduating while on a Track and Field Scholarship with magna cum laude (high honors) and USTFCCCA NCAA Division I All-Academic from Washington State University (USA) with a Bachelors of Architecture, Charlotte spent seven years practicing Architecture in Seattle. Specialising in commercial high-rise, restaurant, and retail design before taking to residential remodels and ground up construction. Charlotte‘s core work focus became mountain resort homes nestled in Washington States Cascade Mountains, and local projects in Seattle that required thorough code analysis and feasibility studies.
When the office closes up shop for the day, Charlotte can be found racing outside to make the most of Wanaka’s mountains and lakes or sitting behind the pottery wheel throwing mud.

Architectural Graduate
Isla gained a Bachelors of Architecture from Victoria University in Wellington. Shortly after finishing her degree she moved back to Wanaka to spend some time closer to family and enjoy the lifestyle that Wanaka offers. Almost two years later it was time to get back to work.
Her interest in architecture began as a child drawing plans on post-it notes. Growing up with a strong exposure to both the construction industry and environmental awareness meant that joining the team at Alki Design fit with Isla’s ambitions perfectly. Isla has a love for the natural palette and methodology within architecture and its place in our evolving environment.
Away from work she is out in the mountains, surrounded by music and reading up on astrophysics.
